STEEL CITY WARRIORS BASKETBALL...
We are a youth Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball program serving the Pittsburgh, Western Pennsylvania, and Tri-State areas.
2019 AAU Club Code: WY8B78
Steel City Warriors Basketball was organized in November 2015. Current Board Members include: Daryl Givner (President), Paul D. Buffington (Vice President) and Jeanne Givner (Treasurer). We formed the club to give youth an opportunity to develop basketball skills with the goal of moving on to the next level. Our goal is to develop the character of the players through positive leadership, discipline and a structured environment. We want our athletes to excel in education, basketball and character. Most of all, we want them to have fun. Official play began in the Spring of 2016.
1/31/19 - Ethan Travis featured as player of the week in West Virginia.
We will compete in approximately 8 tournaments in the Spring AAU season. Tentative schedule for 2019 will be published soon. Dates and tournaments are subject to change if need be. A final tournament schedule will be communicated to our members in the near future.
Tournament fees are included in the cost of the AAU season. Travel expenses, including hotel and food costs will be covered by the parents.
The cost for the 2019 is (to be announced) per athlete.

Coach Pete Strobl visited with our team in 2016. Learn more about him by purchasing his book.
"Backspin traces the playing career of an athlete, beginning with the rigors of college life, and continuing through nine seasons in the European leagues. It is through the author’s reflections of life before college, that we get an inside look at some of the quirky characters and unexpected events that help him cope with the challenges of a sometimes lonely life far from home.
Humorous, entertaining and above all inspirational, Backspin is a great read for students, athletes of all ages, and the families, coaches and friends that teach them, cheer for them, drive them to sporting events, and agonize along with them in hopes that someday, all of their efforts will pay off."
His book is available on Amazon and ITunes.
